Censorship? Are we missing something?

Once again a finance broking company is contacted by a company claiming to be an agent of a property developer company who has apparently purchased the unfinished or unsold developments from the stock of collapsed developer Estate Property Group with demands to remove all content from their website in relationship to, this time, the kingfisher grove development.

We fail to get what the actual reasoning for this is all about. The finance broker was not claiming to have any association with the development since the collapse of the Estate Property Group and had simply retained an archived copy of the details which they had previously been authorised to publish about kingfisher grove in Shorthand, Newcastle.

In fact the finance broker company was actually stating they were no longer associated with or able to offer introductions to this development.

Is this request censorship an effort to hide or cover up what has happened in the past or is there some other meaning behind this apparent drive to remove historic information from the internet?

There is some interesting reading regarding recent history of the Estate Property Group collapse and Kingfisher Grove development at the Sharon Grierson website

When time and effort has been spent to bring information to the internet that achieves first page organic status on search engines we do not feel that it is proper to present visitors with a “page not available” error message by simply deleting the page.

We feel that a smart and forward thinking organisation would have maximised an existing opportunity and utilised an existing first page status.

The finance broking company would have gladly listed forward links and information for the benefit of their visitors.

Another opportunity missed?
