Important changes to Citibank home loan products.

Due to the changing economic and market conditions, Genworth, Citibank LMI provider, has implemented changes relating to products and risk policy.

Fixed Interest Rates Increase

Fixed Interest Rates Increase.

Effective the 25th April 2008 fixed interest rates increased 0.10 percent for the 1 year fixed rate and 0.20 percent for the 2, 3, 4 and 5 year fixed interest rate home loans.

Effective immeadiatley there have also been changes made to the low doc home loans policy.

The Rock Interest Rate Movements

Effective Friday 11 April 2008, the Rock Building Society will increase all of its variable home loan interest rates (excluding lo doc variable) by 0.10 percent as a result of continuing increased wholesale funding costs. This interest rate rise is in line with adjustments made by other financial institutions recently. Read more

Citibank Self Certified changes

Citibank have announced that from 14 April 2008 Citibank will no longer pay the Lenders Mortgage Insurance premium for new Self-Certified loans. Instead, new Citibank customers will be required to meet this cost. Citibank continue to provide a wide range of valuable benefits to all Self-Certified customers including:
  • A simple, streamlined application process
  • A wide choice of self-certified loans including fixed, variable and interest-only options
  • Option to step down interest rate (conditions and fees may apply).
